ROOT CAUSE PROTOCOL CONSULTATION

Ninety minutes on your minerals, with someone who goes beyond the labs.

Most mineral work begins and ends with your lab tests. Mine begins with your life. The Root Cause Protocol turns on how your body moves, stores and recycles iron, and that story lives inside of you. The hair tells me what stress has been doing to you, and your blood test reveals what is happening in the moment. Read alone, they are meaningless. We all have unique lives, and every details matters. I will help you uncover the ones you might have missed.

One session. Your full panel and your hair analysis, gone through marker by marker, and a version of the protocol built around your actual life rather than someone else’s.

THE FRAMEWORK

What the Root Cause Protocol actually says

The Root Cause Protocol was developed by Morley Robbins. Its central claim is that a great deal of what gets labelled deficiency is really dysregulation. You are often not short of iron. The iron you have is sitting in the wrong places, and the machinery that should be moving it, bioavailable copper and retinol and magnesium among other things, is not doing its job. Treat the traffic problem rather than adding more traffic.

I work inside that framework and I am not a purist about it. Where the protocol and the evidence part company I follow the evidence, and I will tell you out loud when that happens. I read hair analysis differently from most practitioners as well, mostly through the electrolytes and what they say about your stress, and I do not treat any of it as a diagnosis.

What you get in ninety minutes is not a script. It is your own data explained clearly enough that you could argue with me about it.

What we look at

What I will not do

WHAT YOU GET

Inside the ninety minutes

This is the full consultation, not an intake call that leads to another paid call.

Your blood panel, marker by marker

Every value on the Full Monty, what it means on its own, and more importantly what it means next to the others. Ratios matter more than any single number.

Your hair analysis

Read through the electrolytes for what stress has been costing you, with its limits stated plainly rather than glossed over.

The protocol, customized

Which pieces of the RCP apply to you, in what order, and which pieces you can leave alone for now. Sequence matters as much as content.

A recording

The session is recorded and sent to you. Ninety minutes is a lot to absorb and nobody remembers it all. Go back to it as often as you need.

Written notes and recommendations

A written summary of what we covered and what to do about it, so you are not working from memory or from your own scribbles.

Support afterwards

Questions come up once you start. Reasonable follow up questions by email are part of the consultation, not a separate charge.

WORKING TOGETHER

What it costs

Laboratory fees are separate and go directly to the labs. I do not mark them up and I do not take a cut of your supplements.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

$350

Ninety minutes. Where everyone starts.

FOLLOW UP CALL

$150

Sixty minutes, once you are underway.

For existing clients. Most people come back after three to four months, usually with fresh labs.

ONGOING SUPPORT

By arrangement

For people who want someone alongside them.

I do not sell a package with a fixed number of months in it. Tell me what you actually need and we will price it honestly.

BEFORE WE MEET

Two sets of numbers

There is no point booking ninety minutes to look at nothing. Order both of these about four weeks before you want to talk, which leaves time for the labs to run and for me to go through them before we sit down.

01

The Full Monty blood panel

Ordered directly from Request A Test and drawn at Quest or Labcorp. You pay them, not me. This is the panel the protocol is actually built on, and it is the one I will not work without.

02

Your HTMA

Hair tissue mineral analysis through Trace Elements, ordered on this site. I read it mainly through the electrolytes, which tell me a great deal about how you have been handling stress and very little about anything else.

The blood tells me what your body is doing with iron. The hair tells me what it has cost you. I want both in front of me.

Already tested elsewhere? Recent labs from another practitioner are fine as long as they cover the same markers. Send them over and I will tell you what is missing before you book. Outside the United States, get in touch and I will help you source the equivalent panels locally.

More detail on both panels lives on the lab testing page.

THE PROCESS

How it works

01

Order your labs

Full Monty from Request A Test, HTMA from this site. Roughly four weeks ahead of when you want to talk.

02

Send them to me

Email me the PDFs as they arrive. I go through both before we meet, so the session is spent talking rather than reading.

03

Ninety minutes together

A video call. We go through everything and you ask whatever you want. There is no part of it I will not explain.

04

Recording and notes

The recording, written notes and your recommendations follow within a few days. Then you go and live with it for a while.

QUESTIONS

Before you book

Do I really need both tests?

No, but they are helpful. If you can only afford to do one, do the blood. It holds key insights that the HTMA cannot reveal. If you cannot get the blood tests, but can get the HTMA, that is fine too. We will fill in the gaps through a detailed health history.

How current do my labs need to be?

Within about three months, and ideally within six weeks. Older than that and we are discussing history rather than your present state.

Can I use labs from another practitioner?

Usually. Send them to me before booking and I will tell you what is covered and what is missing. It is common to need one or two extra markers added.

Do you sell supplements?

No. Recommendations are yours to fill wherever you like, and I would rather you shop on price and quality than on my convenience. That said, I can set up clients on FullScript with a decent discount, and some supplements I recommend are available there (not all of them).

What if I am working with a doctor?

Good. Keep working with them. Nothing here replaces medical care, and if I see something that belongs in front of a physician I will say so directly.

Is this medical advice?

No. This is nutritional and educational consulting. I am not a physician, I do not diagnose, and I do not treat disease.

How soon should I book a follow up?

Three to four months is the usual interval, and most people retest before they come back. Sooner if something has clearly gone sideways, in which case email me first, since often that is enough.

Can we work together if I am outside the United States?

Yes. The consultation is a video call, so location makes no difference. Sourcing the labs takes a bit more work and I will help you find the equivalent panels where you are.

What if I have already done a consultation with someone else?

That is fine and quite common. Bring their notes if you have them. I am more interested in what you tried and what happened than in relitigating their reasoning.

Bring me your numbers and I will tell you what they mean.

Ninety minutes, $350, and you leave with the recording, the notes and a protocol that was built for your life rather than for the average of everybody else’s.

Not sure it is the right fit? Send me a note first.
